Everyone is encouraged to monitor their health and avoid unnecessary risks. Let us all diligently follow the safety measures provided to protect ourselves, our family, the people around us, and the country as a whole. Please do avoid unnecessary travels and stay home.
In Taiwan, mobile applications were devised to help fight the pandemic. You could consider downloading some of the apps available in the App Store and Google Play. The Taiwan Social Distancing App, initiated by the Taiwan Centers of Disease Control and Taiwan AI Labs, aimed to reduce the spread of infectious diseases such as COVID-19. For now, it is only available in Chinese. Users don’t have to register or upload any information when using the app. It uses Bluetooth (must be turned on) to detect nearby smartphones and logs the proximity. If a user has close contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case, the app notifies individuals within 2-meter proximity or those in close contact with at least 2 minutes for the past 14 days.
