NTOU has received a notification from the Health Department on May 20, 2021. Among the confirmed cases on that day, one case is a student from NTOU. The University has taken measures for isolation in accordance with the epidemic prevention guidelines. The student did not live in the campus dormitory and close contacts were already listed for home isolation for 21 days. The University has dealt with this cautiously and adopted relevant epidemic prevention measures. It will conduct wide disinfection inside the campus.
According to the information provided by the students, the relevant contacts were already notified to do home quarantine or independent health management and the relevant contact areas had been temporarily closed and disinfected.
With this development, everyone is urged not to panic, pay attention to your own health, maintain a normal schedule, wear masks, wash your hands frequently, stop non-essential official duties, study exchanges and reduce movement between venues.
The Epidemic Command Center has raised the national epidemic alert to 3rd Level and all courses in the school have shifted to online teaching methods. All activities were also suspended, postponed or switched to online methods. Some of the faculty and staff will work from home. Work in groups should be in different places to reduce the risk of infection. The campus and various venues will be cleaned and disinfected and it will be close to the public.
The employees (faculty and staff) are reminded to continue self-health monitoring , wear masks, wash hands frequently, pay attention to ventilation and avoid crowded places. Those with fever and respiratory symptoms should wear mask for medical treatment. It is recommended to return home and rest. When seeking medical attention, take the initiative to inform contact history, travel history, and whether other people around you is with similar symptoms. Let us all work together as a community to overcome this challenge and hoping to return to our normal campus life soon.
