【COVID 19 Alert】Alert level 2 extended until Nov 29

The Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced the extension of the COVID-10 Alert Level 2 until November 29, 2021. Mask rules remain the same, but people can remove them during exercise, taking photographs, giving speeches, or teaching a class indoors.

Individuals who work in forestry, agriculture, fishery, and husbandry are also exempted from wearing a mask in open areas. Mask could also be taken out when visiting saunas, hot or cold springs, spa facilities, or steam rooms.

For those who are returning for Lunar New Year, the CECC also announced the final quarantine rule. Fully vaccinated travelers (vaccines should be approved for emergency use by Taiwan or World Health Organization) arriving in Taiwan from December 14 to February 12,  2022 can now stay in a quarantine hotel or self-paid centralized quarantine facility for 7 days; the next 7 days can be home quarantine. Travelers for this policy must have 3 PCR tests, upon arrival, before returning for the home quarantine, and the last is at the end of the 14-day quarantine.

For travelers who were not fully vaccinated for at least two weeks upon arrival and return from December 14 to February 12 next year, they have an option for 10-day quarantine in the hotel and 4-day home quarantine.

When in-home quarantine, individuals can only stay with family members or relatives who have been fully vaccinated for at least two weeks and must ensure not to share rooms with others.
