The Office of the International Affairs of NTOU organized an orientation for international students on October 2nd, aiming to assist them in adapting to life in Taiwan smoothly and becoming part of the NTOU community. This event featured guest speakers from the Foreign Affairs Section of Keelung City Police Bureau and the OIA, who provided guidance on important matters. The goal of this orientation was to ensure that international students not only focus on their studies but also have a memorable experience during their time at NTOU.
The event began with the presentation by the Foreign Affairs Section of Keelung City Police Bureau, introducing common scams and traffic accidents in Taiwan. They also offered preventive measures and ways to seek assistance. Despite Taiwan having a good public safety record and being a safe place to live, it's still important to protect oneself and avoid becoming a victim of scams or drugs. Through this awareness campaign, we hope that foreign students can have a safe and secure educational experience during their time in Taiwan.
Finally, the faculty members from the OIA engaged in enthusiastic interactions with the new students. They shared information about various scholarships and resources provided by the university, allowing students to gain a deeper understanding of NTOU. The faculty members also extended warm wishes and encouragement to the new students, hoping that they will have a wonderful and fulfilling educational experience in Taiwan.
