【Highlight】Welcome Party

     The Office of International Affairs (OIA) of the National Taiwan Ocean University (NTOU) held its Annual Welcome Gathering for new students on November 18, 2020, at the 2nd Floor of the Administration Building Auditorium 2.  The activity started around noon and was hosted by Sunarti Sinaga, a Ph.D. student from the Department of Environmental Biology and Fisheries Science.

     The activity was attended by both new and returning international students with 50 in attendance.  The students were served with free lunch for the event.

     Officials from the University also graced the said event and led by Dr. Tai-Wen Hsu , NTOU president.  The President gave his welcome speech and emphasized NTOU’s plan to reach out and welcome more international students and targeting additional 10 students each year.

     The President also asked the students about their concerns while studying at NTOU and how the University can help them provide a better environment.  He acknowledged the effort of the OIA staff for working hard to help facilitate the needs of the international students.  Concerns such as dormitory and scholarship support were brought out by the students.  The President assured that he will take a look at these concerns.

     Other University Officials who attended the event were the Vice-President for the Office of International Affairs, Prof. I Shiung Chen, Vice-President for Office of International Affairs Prof. Kuo Chung Shang and Prof. Chiou, Prof. Tseng, Prof. Fang, Prof. Shao, and Prof. Tasi from Office of International Affairs.  They also gave their warm welcome to the new students.

     The gathering was concluded through a photo with the president, university officials, and international students.
