【Events】01/16 2023 Lunar New Year

Lunar New Year is coming and this is an important holiday that foreign students cannot be missed out. Therefore, the Office of the International Affairs (OIA) invited all foreign students to the Lunar New Year party at the NTOU Exhibition Hall on January 16, 2023 to celebrate the important holiday. The NTOU President, Dr. Tai-Wen Hsu, the Vice President, Dr. Cheng-Yu Ku, the Dean of the International Affairs, Dr. Yu-Wei Chang, the Vice Dean of the International Affairs, Dr. Chia-Ling Wang, Dr. Hsiao-Chun Tseng, and Dr. Pin-Wen Chiou joined the party with 64 foreign students to experience Taiwan's traditional New Year culture. Everyone welcomed the New Year with joy in full of blessings.

The Dean of the International Affairs, Dr. Yu-Wei Chang introduced the customs and history of the Lunar New Year to the students and taught foreign students to write Spring couplets. The students learned to write calligraphy for the words of "Spring, Fu, An." Some students showed their creativity and wrote innovative words. Everyone had fun and get to know more about the tradition.

The NTOU President, Dr. Tai-Wen Hsu also wrote Spring couplets with English letters "Happy New Year," wishing everyone has an auspicious Year of the Rabbit and good luck and good health in the new year. He also wishes the students to move towards their goals. The President handed the red envelope out to each student, and everyone was delighted to receive the “Hong Bao.”
