Scholars from NTOU participated in the 2023 USTP x SixERS Joint Symposium, which took place at Taipei Medical University on November 28. Organized by Taipei Medical University, this forum marked the third Joint Symposium since the establishment of the academic alliance between the USTP and SixERS, and it was the first-ever physical conference for both sides. The theme of the Joint Symposium focused on "Advancing Renewable Energy Technologies for a Sustainable Future" and "Innovative Approaches to Healthcare," bringing together representatives from Taiwan and Japan.
The NTOU delegation, led by Director Wen-Ning Chang from the Office of the International Affairs and Associate Professor Yi-Chih Chow from the Department of Systems Engineering and Naval Architecture, actively engaged in the forum. During the event, Associate Professor Yi-Chih Chow delivered a lecture on the topic of "Novel Methodologies for Designing Geometries of WECs - Using the OWC as an Example," sharing his advanced research on ocean wave energy, which is considered a significant renewable energy technology. The Joint Symposium provided a platform for further discussions and potential future collaborations.
After listening to the professors' presentations, the students enthusiastically raised questions, showcasing a keen passion for academic research.
This event brought rich academic achievements to the NTOU team and strengthened the depth and breadth of academic collaboration between Taiwan and Japan.
