National Taiwan Ocean University (NTOU) continues to strengthen its global academic network. From May 18 to 26, 2025, Prof. Yu-Wei Chang, Dean of the International Affairs, led a delegation to the United States and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) to launch a dual master’s degree program. The partnership will initially begin with the Department of Harbor and River Engineering and is expected to expand to other departments in the future.
During the visit, Prof. Chang also met with representatives of several key institutions—including the Yang Ming Marine Transport Corporation office in New York, the Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences at McGill University, and attended the SUNY Maritime College commencement ceremony—to deepen engagement and foster long-term partnerships.
The delegation also visited Dr. James S.C. Chao, founder of Foremost Group, and former U.S. Secretary of Transportation Elaine Chao, to express appreciation for their continued support of NTOU’s development.
This trip yielded significant results—not only establishing a new academic pathway for NTOU students to pursue advanced studies in the U.S., but also strengthening partnerships with leading institutions across North America. NTOU remains committed to expanding international collaboration and advancing its position as a globally engaged university.
